The Welsh Government established its TB eradication programme, aimed at tackling all sources of infection, to carry out its long-term goal of eradicating bovine TB. It includes measures such as annual TB testing of all cattle herds, enhanced cattle movement controls and promotion of good biosecurity practice.
The Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths, has outlined a new regionalised response to eliminate bovine TB in Wales as part of the Welsh Government’s refreshed bovine TB Eradication Programme.

I am currently a final year student at the Royal Agricultural University undertaking my dissertation research on ‘The economic and emotional impact of bovine TB on Welsh beef farms’.
As a Welsh beef farmers daughter I have a personal link with my chosen topic and am keen to see how the Welsh industry truly feel about the disease and the depths that it is effecting them.
My research includes interviewing professionals from across the sector, alongside my survey, which I’m aiming to gain as many responses from welsh farmers as possible.
Any support would be greatly appreciated and beneficial to my research.
